About Blanton:
Blanton
Vogler was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12. He attended
school in Winston-Salem, where music was a huge part of his life. He
died unexpectedly in 2004 at the age of 34. Blanton is greatly missed by
his family, friends, and his cats, Ozzie and Dixon.Blanton, also known
as “Bluty,” developed many close friendships during his lifetime. It is
this group of friends who have partnered with the JDRF Piedmont Triad
Chapter to organize the Blanton Vogler Memorial Golf Tournament in his
honor. It is their hope that the money raised from this event will help
to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.
