Please consider making a Fund A Cure donation in honor of the Regal family.

Laurie and Norman served as our 2022 JDRF Piedmont Triad Hope Gala Honorees, while their son, Andrew, took on the role of 2022 Fund A Cure Chair.

To date—because of the tremendous generosity of the Regals’ friends and other JDRF supporters—we have raised $1.25 million to create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D)!

And now, Laurie and Norm are challenging us to do even more by June 30, 2022.

The Regals have poured themselves into helping JDRF cure, prevent, and treat T1D since 1996, when Andrew, then 18 months old, was diagnosed with the disease. At the time, Laurie knew nothing about type 1, although Norm—as a podiatrist—was all too familiar with T1D and its complications. Fast forward 26 years: Andrew is now a Resident in Podiatry at Ascension Hospital in Milwaukee, where every day he treats patients with diabetes—both type 1 and type 2.

Unlike Andrew, who has had outstanding diabetes care since he was diagnosed, many of his patients are in real danger of losing a foot…or their sight…or worse…because of type 1 diabetes.

JDRF is fighting to change that.

Fund A Cure is an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of people living with T1D and their loved ones through a 100% tax-deductible donation that will accelerate life-changing diabetes research. With JDRF research on the brink of numerous scientific breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D—including therapies that will restore the body’s ability to produce insulin as well as new technologies such as Insulet’s Omnipod 5, a tubeless artificial pancreas system that was approved by the FDA in January 2022—Fund A Cure donations are more important than ever.

Your generous contribution—of any amount—will make a tremendous difference for the Regals and for all people living with T1D!

If you’d prefer to make a Fund A Cure donation by check, please drop it in the mail by June 30, 2022, to: JDRF, 216 West Market Street, Suite B, Greensboro, NC 27401.
